WINKLER, LEVIE B., 1856 - 1933. (ROW 33) WINKLER, NELLIE P., 1853 - 1937. (ROW 33) Levie Benton Winkler, of Elora, Lincoln Co., Tennessee, married Nellie Paralee Shultz about 1880 in Tennessee. Nellie was born in Alabama, Levie was born in Tennessee. By 1910, they had 9 children, 6 lived. Their children were Andrew Porter, a farmer who married Louella Hall, Georgia who married George Lee, Mary Hattie who married a Sledge, Sallie who married a Marooney, Ora who married Solomon Vines and is buried in Merrrimack Cemetery, Ovie who married William Brewer. NO STONE Carl was the son of Marvin and Virgie Mae (Eaks) Winkles who married Mar. 6, 1919, in Madison Co., Alabama. Virgie was a daughter of John and Idella Eaks from near Manchester, Tennessee. She was born in 1897, and died in 1953. Marvin was born 1881, and died in 1958. Other children of Marvin and Virgie were William, Ernest, Melvin, J. P., Marcus and Fred Winkles. Marvin and his first wife were the parents of Charley and James Winkles. All were still in the home at the time of Carl's death. Sources: Ernest Lee Winkles. Winkles and Marvin Winkles were brothers. Their father was Walter Winkles. Ermest Winkles married Emma Meadows Oct. 23, 1909. Emma was daughter of Rudy Meadows and Frances (Cloud) Meadows. Rudy Meadows was born June 1, 1868, and died July 24, 1904. He is buried in Merrimack Cemetery. He and Frances, daughter of Durgan and Ellen (Dunn) Cloud married Dec. 14, 1891. Frances married William Graham about 1909. Ernest and Emma were parents of Pearl M. born about 1916, George born about 1898, Ernest born 1919, or 1920, and James born after 1920. Winkles, son of Marvin Winkles and his first wife, died of Bright's disease. James father, Marvin and his stepmother, Virgie, are buried in Merrimack Cemetery. James G. Winkles married Maggie Shelton Rector, widow of Howard Rector, Oct. 6, 1938. They were parents of Earl and Hazel. Maggie is a daughter of John Wesley and Lou Ella (Stevenson) Shelton.
