WINKLES, MARVIN M., 1881 - 19____. (ROW 43) WINKLES, VIRGIE MAE, 1897 - 1953. (ROW 43) Early in the 1900s, Marvin married and he and his wife were parents of Charles and James G. Winkles. On 2 Aug. 1915, Marvin married Lillie Fowler in Madison Co., Alabama. Lillie died Oct. 19, 1918, during the flu epidemic. Her twin daughters both died within two weeks of their mother's death. One of the twins was Mamie Winkles. Marvin and Virgie Mae Eakes married Mar. 6, 1919. Virgie, daughter of John and Idella Eakes, of Lincoln Co. , Tennessee. The family moved to Huntsville when Virgie was a child. Virgie and Marvin were parents of William, Ernest, Joseph P., Fred, Marcus, Nevin and Jack Winkles. Alabama Death Index Microfilm. WINKLES, WILLIAM J., 1878 - 1947. (ROW 39) William Jackson Winkles died May 7, 1947. He had been a farmer in Hobbs Island for many years, but lived on Lawrence Street at the time of his death. His first wife was Savannah Holman, of Bear Creek, near Haleyville, Alabama. She died in early 1920s. Savannah and William had three children, Leola, Fannie who married Sherly Majors, son of Elmus and Laura Majors, on Jan. 9, 1924, and Dora, who married Shelby 0. McDonald on Oct. 2, 1926. William Jackson Winkles married Chattie Lemley July 14, 1924. Chattie (proper name Charity) first married William James Allen on Apr. 6, 1912, and had a son, Lawrence. On Feb. 2, 1918, Chattie married William Lindsay Barclay. Her parents were Sallie (Turner) and William Henderson Lemley. Chattie died in April, 1958, and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery. (ROW 9) Forrest Wiseman married Bobbie Hale, Oct. 1, 1932, in Madison Co. Alabama. At the time of marriage he worked in a filling station. Forrest and Bobbie had one daughter, Thelma. They were divorced before his death on Mar. 22, 1935. He was survived by his wife, Vina Wiseman. He was a son of Newton and Jennie (Scivally) Wiseman of Franklin Co., Tennessee. They had another son, T. J. Wiseman. The births of the children were in Franklin Co. Tennessee. Newton married a second time to Barshie Smith and they were the parents of Hazel Wiseman, born 1919, in Winchester, Tennessee. Barshie's mother was a Franklin before marrying a Smith.
