WOOD, HOBERT M. , MAY 16, 1937, TN. PVT. 62 PIONEER INF. (ROW 3) Hobart Wood was born Oct. 20, 1896, in Woodbury, Tennessee. He served in the United States Army in WWI. He enlisted at Camp Wadsworth, South Carolina, Oct. 25, 1918, at the age of 22. He had been a farmer. He was discharged Dec. 15, 1918. At that time he was single and was about 6 feet tall, with an excellent character. Hobert's parents were Albert and Elizabeth Wood and they remained in Tennessee. His brothers were James, Beecher, Munford, and Robert. His sisters were Mrs. Homer Haley and Mrs. Grady Jennings He married Mary Collins in Woodbury, Tennessee where they had four daughters: Sarah, who married Charles Childers, Shirley who married Howard Taylor, Carlene who married William Weaver and Evelyn Wood who remained single. The family moved to Merrimack about 1932. Mary Frances Collins was daughter of Martha Elizabeth Tenpenney and Marion Francis Collins. Both met after they were widowed. Marion had one child by his first wife and Martha Elizabeth brought three children to the marriage from her first marriage. WOODALL, ABE F., 1858 - 19___. (ROW 7) WOODALL, RHODA J., 1867 - 1935. (ROW 7) Abraham Franklin Woodall was born in Indiana in 1858. He died Nov. 30, 1937, at his home on D. St. after a two weeks illness. His wife was Rhoda Jane who was born in Alabama in 1867. She died Oct. 20, 1935, after a week's illness of pneumonia. At the time of their deaths they had one daughter, Artess Singleton. Rhoda may have been Rhoda Brewer before her marriage. Sources: Census, 1920, Madison Co., Alabama. E.D. 150, Sh. 22A, line 26. She was a daughter of the Rev. James Hill and his wife, Mary (Cleek) Hill. Mary Cleek was said to be a Choctaw Indian. Elizabeth died after William and so was buried in Maple Hill Cemetery. The Woodard family was from Cowan, Franklin Co., Tennessee. Source: Larry Woodard. WOODARD, SALLY A., 1866 - 1925. (ROW 36) WOODARD, SAM J., 1860 - 1921. (ROW 36) Sally A. Carpenter and Sam J. Woodard married in Tennessee and had three children: Grace, Laddie and Reubin. Grace Woodard married Mr. Speck. Sam died of Huntington's Disease as did Grace Woodard Speck.
