The index above shows an entry dated 1839 for Maria A. Jones licensed to marry Henry L. Ward, who owned nearby land. The right side of the page shows Mrs. Maria A. Ward later licensed to marry Wiley T. Hawkins, in 1857. Obviously, Mr. Ward passed away by 1857. By 1860, the Wiley T. Hawkins family had moved to Florence, Alabama, as had Albert H. Jones.
