Jones Cemetery, 37-5 Summary Report, page 10

Dallas J. Jones, who was too young to be one of the recipients of the land given in 1826 by Isaac Jackson. However, it indicates a close relationship to the family of Phillip A. Jones, who may well have been a brother of Fred Jones and possibly even of the more famous Alexander P. Jones of early Madison County. Alexander P. Jones also lived in the area very near the Jones 37-5 Cemetery in 1850, according to census records. One other possibility is based on the fact that some of the records indicate that there was a “Phillippa A. Jones”. The census record for Fred Jones showed his wife as “P. A. Jones”, and Isaac Jackson actually transferred the land to his grandsons Dallas J. Jones and Albert H. Jones. Accordingly, they did not have to be adults to “purchase” the land from Isaac Jackson. This strongly suggests that Isaac Jackson had a daughter named Phillippa A. Jackson, who married Fred Jones or Phillip Jones and produced the grandsons. A check of the records inserted below confirms some of this logic. 10 - (1866)
