As a note of explanation to the reader, it should be understood that while the INDEX TO LANDS is a valuable resource, when it was prepared by clerks in the office of G. W. Jones & Sons, Inc., there were apparently many errors made in the notations of which quarter sections of the land were involved in the transactions. The notations of those quarters should be taken only as an approximate guide. The actual referenced deeds must be carefully examined to fully determine all of the included quarter sections for each record. Sometimes, even the actual deeds have been found to contain obvious errors, but careful research will usually reveal the problems and their needed corrections. The INDEX as it is provides great continuity of land ownership references by following the trail from “Grantor” to “Grantee”, who in turn became a Grantor subsequently, and so forth for each change of ownership. 11 - (1942)
