 •> 1830 Madison County AL census Slaves of Lan(d)nian, Fennell, Moore The 1875 map segment shown below has notations of the landowners in the various sections and townships. Of course, these landowners would typically be those of record around 1870 - 1874, to allow for time to finalize and print the map by 1875. The map shows Lanier ownership of all of Section 31 in T4-R1W, while Fennell owned Section 32, along with James Landman, who also owned Section 30. There is notation of an S. A. Moore to the southwest, near Triana, in T5-R2W. That S. A. Moore held quarter sections land in Sections 11, 12, and 13 of T5-R2W. Considering the error rate in old records, this could well be S. H. Moore, especially where the old script “H” could appear to be an “A”. (The preparer of this report has marked the location of the Moore - Landman Cemetery in Section 31 of T4-R1W. That marking was not on the original map.) 13 - (1944)
