LIPSCOMB CEMETERY, 61 - 2
Summary Report
Redstone Arsenal: Lipscomb Cemetery, June, 2002.
This cemetery is located in a pasture, about 100 yrrds north of Hale Road and about 200 jards west of Locust Road in the northwest portion of the arsenal. There is evidence of about 20 graves, but the enclosed area could hold twice that many. Only the four oblisks remain, along with one field stone that may well be a grave marker in the northwest comer of the cemetery.
The location of the cemetery is in the SW/4 of Section 24, Township 4 South, Range 2 West.
These impressive obelisks appear new and are probably a recent addition. Of course, they just be recently cleaned and restored, since they are broken.
