The “slave owner” listed above was “Richard Lipscomb, Estate”, since Richard had died before 1850. From the April 1858 court papers, it is known that his son John T. Lipscomb was the Administrator of the estate. John was 28 years old in 1858, and he was an educated man, with the occupation of educator in the nearby town of Madison. SiAUi i, wCL.
