tombstones in the black cemeteries. However, there is a possibility that the earliest landowners are interred here. If that were the case, initially establishing the site as a cemetery, it may have become used by later black families and landowners. There may have even been tombstones in the past, but sadly to contemplate, old cemeteries are often victims of neglect, and tombstones do get removed from some cemeteries through time. Considering these facts, all that can be done at this time to learn the history of the people of this cemetery in the southwest quarter of Section 11, Township 5, Range 1 West, is to assume a connection to the early landowners. Results of research into the public records of land ownership are shown in the images inserted below. 2 - (2564)
