Also, it is only a hope that examination of additional records will clarify the ambiguities encountered to date about this cemetery and the pioneers of the land where it is found. While only the white pioneers were researched so far, it is still possible that the cemetery derives its name from later black owners of the land. However, that is considered to be improbable from the current level of information presented above. Perhaps time will eventually allow these deceased citizens of long ago to be re-identified and possibly new markers erected for their descendants to know where they were buried. For now, the cemetery is well protected and maintained, even if nobody knows who may be in each grave. 31 - (2593)
