 Because of the close association of the Wall, McLeod and Steger families, an abbreviated Wall genealogy is presented here: In Mrs. Samuel Allen Wilkinson, D A.R. application papers (National Number 39771). She decends from James Wall, ancestor of the Madison County family, as follows: Her parents were Alexander Heath Simpson, 1841-1919, and Helen Grey (Steger) Simpson, 1843-1898. Helen Grey Steger. was the daughter of Kennon Harris Steger, 1806-1892, and Mary Elizabeth Wall, 1821-1899, his wife. Mary Elizabeth Wall, was the daughter of Alexander Grey Wall, 1793-1836, and Mary Cooper, 1801-1869, his wife, they were married 1820. Alexander Grey Wall was the son of James Wall, 1760-1830, and Mary Turner, 1763-1838.
