DOCTOR WILLIAM SIMPSON, a book by Dennis William Simpson, a descendant GEORGE MCLEOD AND MARY SIMPSON relief in Florida, but never recovered; he died near Arcadia, in that State, Dec. 19, 1803 He married July 15, 1880. at Maysville, Ala., Viola Lillian Taylor, daughter of Judge Thomas L Taylor, whose father, Mqjor George Taylor, was a lieutenant in the wevolutionary war, serving in the campaigns of South Carolina and Georgia, assisting rapture of Augusta from the British,??"He was horn near Richmond, Va., in 1762. and participated in the battles of Monmouth, Guilford Courthouse and King's Mountain. The family came to Baltimore, Md.. with the celebrated Englishman, Lord Baltimore . . .. The father of William A. Wall, James Tazewell Wall, was a native of Madison county, Ala. He studied law at Lebanon, Tenn., but never practiced. Return-ing home, he became a planter, which occupation he followed until his death, at the age of twenty-four. Feb. 14, 1859 . . .. His mother, Mary Eliza (Cowthon) Wall, was the daughter of Thomas H. Cowthon and wife, Sarah Rebecca (Steger) Cowthon, both of whom were of the same county; they arc now deceased . . .." Children: 1. James Taylor Wall married Eloise Carter. 2. Nannie Mary Wall. 3. Sallie Lacy Wall married Halcon Roberts Acosta. 4. William Alfred Wall was bom August 11, 1883, and died July 3, 1885 at Madison County, Alabama. 5. Hal Tate Wall was bom September 15, 1888, and died August 13, 1889, at Champion, Alabama. Male child, died before his father's death. 4. Alexander Alfred Wall was bom April 9, 1826. He first married his maternal first cousin, Amanda Ross, and secondly. Mary McLeod. (q.v.) 5.
