The 1890 census was accidentally burned, so it is not in existence to be examined, but the 1900 census has John W. Woodward with his wife Sallie and their 9 living children. According to the record, Sallie had given birth to 11 children, but 2 had died by the time of the census enumeration. John and Sallie had been married for 17 years, and their family included twin sons Charles and John at age 11.
