Timmons Cemetery, 89-1 Summary Report, page 27
The marriage records of Madison County show the license for John Timmons to Catherine Quay Finch, but the “T” had been interpreted as an “S”, so it was indexed under “Simmons”, as are several other Timmons records, just as Finch and Lynch were apparently often confused phonetically. This particular error was pointed out to the officials at the courthouse archives, and the correction has now been annotated.
