The previous insert from the Government Tract Book for Sections 19, 20, and 21 showed that John Timmons was the original owner of the West Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 21, Township 5, Range 1 West. He purchased that parcel on September 28, 1821. This land was within a half mile of that owned by James Finch. The insert below shows other government land purchases made by John Timmons as the original owner after the United States began on February 2 of 1818 to sell what had previously been reserved to the Chickasaw, Cherokee, and Creek Indians. 51 - (3000)
