Timmons Cemetery, 89-1 Summary Report, page 79

settler of the town of Madison, but that is actually not the case - in that he was neither “first”, nor did he live in the town, but only near it, within a couple of miles. He apparently moved to the extreme western edge of Madison County in his later years, living on land that was bounded on the west by the county line, near where Madison was founded in 1856. The debt of Henry W. Hall to the estate is interesting, because John Timmons' friend and the first guardian of his son (William), Dr. John Hardie, had married Mary Hall in 1828, per Madison County Marriage Book 3, page 582. Of course, Dr. Hardie also married Harriet M. Saxon per MB 4A, page 29, in 1844, and it is not known what happened to Mary Hall Hardie. 79 - (3028)
