Timmons Cemetery, 89-1 Summary Report, page 96

The legal requirements for guardianship over William Hardie Timmons ended when he reached the age of 21, in 1860. The item below (which was previously shown) provides the receipt for posting legal notice in the August 29 issue of the local newspaper (The Huntsville Democrat) that the guardianship was going into a “final settlement”. The 1860 census showed that William was still living at that time on the Timmons land in a household headed by his maternal Aunt Margaret L. Finch (“Fynch”). The fact that the household was on the Timmons land is noted by the neighboring households including those of Nancy T. Graham (of the Dickson - Rankin Cemetery area) and of Nathaniel Evans, who witnessed several documents of the Timmons' transactions. 96 - (3045)
