Timmons Cemetery, 89-1 Summary Report, page 136

Timmons Cemetery, Redstone Arsenal, Madison Co., AL, July, 2002. (Rene Seigh in possible grave depression outside west wall.) As a final item, it is interesting to note that a Finch descendant reported that oral tradition has held that the Timmons family “had a lot of trouble with tuberculosis”. That could easily explain why so many of the children of John Timmons and Catharine Quay Finch died young, before modern medicines could have saved their lives from the disease. The story as communicated indicates that the walled cemetery was perhaps used for a time in the 1960s or 1970s for occult activities, as it was hidden in a wooded area, as well as walled to prevent unwanted observations from outside. 136 - (3085)
