It is generally known where the white families lived, but the specific locations of the black family houses are generally unknown. This should not be taken as a suggestion that any of the white family members were perhaps buried in the Lynch Cemetery, 89-3. Since there was no listing found for a James Timmons of about age 39 in the 1880 census of Madison County (or any county of any state, for that matter), it is assumed that he had passed away sometime before the 1880 census was taken. Since there was no entry in the 1880 census found for his wife Priscilla or his son Wyatt, it may well be that the whole family died of some epidemic or other calamity. Accordingly, it seems logical that they would be buried in the cemetery on land that they co-owned with the Joiners. As noted on page 19 of this report, there was a Caroline Timmons who 29 - (3144)
